Our sister company, Express Container Line Inc. is the foundation of how National Car Transport® came to be. Express Container Line, ECL, specializes in shipping full and partial containers with freight, heavy equipment, and vehicles internationally.

In the late 90’s, ECL noticed it had a very difficult time finding a reliable auto transport company with the right permits to deliver the vehicle to & from the ports to their final U.S. destination.

Therefore, the founder formed what is now National Car Transport®. Today, we have the expertise and drivers with correct licensing and permits to enter ports in a legal and timely manner.

In addition, we work with many international shipping lines and rely on ECL experience to facilitate international shipping. In other words, this experience helps when shipping off-shore to Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and Alaska since these locations involve port pick-ups and/or deliveries.

International and off-shore shipping is not door-to-door. Instead, it is a port-to-door or door-to-port service.

When shipping abroad, remember there may be additional costs for permits and taxes from local agencies and government laws. The international marine carriers will notify you of their own coverages when the vehicle leaves the U.S.
